The paloma is one of my favorite summertime cocktails. The paloma is great for large parties. Grapefruits give a lot of juice and club soda keeps the costs low. You can use any grapefruit you want but I like the sharp acidity of white grapefruit.
Ingredients
2 oz silver tequila
3 oz grapefruit juice
3 oz club soda
1/2 oz lime juice
Garnish
Wedge of Lime, kosher salt.
Glassware
12 oz tumbler

Fill shaker with ice. Measure lime juice, grapefruit juice, tequila and add to shaker. Shake ingredients until cold and strain into tumbler filled with ice. Rim the glass with the lime wedge and coat the rim with kosher salt then fill with ice. Strain juices and Tequila into tumbler and top with club soda.
Suggestions
For a change of pace, you can turn the paloma into a variation of a bulldog. Replace the grapefruit juice, and club soda with Stiegl Grapefruit Radler. Stiegl is a fantastic brewery in Austria. They can their premixed radler into half liter packages that are great on their own but mix great with tequila.
