Old Fashioned Diego Style

This is a twist on the Old Fashioned recipe that is the most widely used these days.  Diego Vasquez has been my best friend for over a decade and in all that time I have known him to be a fellow man of a powerful thirst.  Diego also has a bit of a sweet tooth, and always orders his with bourbon and extra sweet, so D, this recipe is for you and for everyone who wants something a little sweet.  The common Old Fashioned calls for sugar crystals to be muddled into the cherry and the orange with the whiskey simply poured over the top and ice added.  By shaking, the flavors really get combined and by straining the drink presents much cleaner.

Ingredients

2 oz Bourbon (Knob Creek is the usual go to.)

1/4 oz Simple Syrup

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

1/4 oz Curaçao of Curaçao

1/4 oz Luxardo Maraschino
